Description
The Indian Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) and café industry is witnessing a massive transition. No longer are cafés just places to grab a quick drink; they have evolved into social hubs, remote workspaces, and primary hangout zones for the youth. Positioned perfectly at the intersection of premium quality and budget-friendly pricing is Pokket Café.
Pokket Café built its reputation on a simple but powerful premise: offering an elite, boutique café experience without the intimidating price tag. This "pocket-friendly" strategy addresses a major gap in the Indian food and beverage industry, targeting the aspirations of middle-class youths, college students, and corporate professionals.
The café features a vibrant ambiance paired with a highly diverse menu that spans thick cold coffees, signature chocolate sizzling brownies, artisanal shakes, and a savory assortment of pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, and pastas. This balance of a welcoming atmosphere and accessible pricing enables Pokket Café to secure immediate local traction, high customer retention, and strong market positioning across tier-1, tier-2, and tier-3 cities in India.

The Brand Journey
The story of Pokket Café began in Pune, Maharashtra. The founder, Mr. Abhijit Ghatge—a mechanical engineer who transitioned into the corporate IT world—realized his true calling lay in entrepreneurship. After operating a franchise unit of another popular café brand for two years to master the operational nuances of the food and beverage industry, he recognized a glaring gap: the lack of high-quality, experiential hangouts that were genuinely affordable.
To bridge this gap, he launched Pokket Café in 2013 with a vision to democratize the café experience. Soon after, marketing veteran Mr. Gajanan Chaphalkar joined the brand's leadership, leveraging over 25 years of corporate experience to accelerate growth. By 2016, Pokket Café adopted a franchise model. Today, it operates more than 120 successful outlets across India, expanding from its core in Maharashtra to locations nationwide.
Support Training
Pokket Café provides comprehensive, end-to-end assistance to ensure franchise owners run a smooth operation from day one.
Pre-Launch & Site Selection Support: The brand's corporate team assists you with advanced demographic analysis and footfall tracking to select the ideal retail location. They also offer structural layouts, architectural interior design blueprints, and counter setups optimized for fast service.
Operational Training: Intensive hands-on training is provided to your hired kitchen staff, supervisors, and billing executives. This covers recipe standardization, equipment maintenance, waste management, and billing software handling.
Supply Chain Integration: All core ingredients, specialized syrups, chocolate blends, and coffee premixes are shipped directly from Pokket Café’s central production facility in Pune, eliminating local vendor dependencies.
Marketing & Launch Collaterals: The corporate marketing team designs initial launch campaigns, promotional banners, pamphlets, and digital templates to drum up local buzz. They also assist in integrating your outlet into major food delivery networks.
Ongoing Academic & Audit Support: Regular mystery audits and refresher training modules ensure that service levels, food quality, and hygiene benchmarks remain top-tier.
Ideal Candidate
Pokket Café is searching for dedicated business partners who want to build a long-term enterprise rather than just make a passive investment.
Entrepreneurial Drive & Passion: Prior background in the food and beverage industry is helpful but not mandatory. A strong passion for hospitality, customer satisfaction, and daily team management is essential.
Financial Capability: Prospective investors must have clear access to the necessary capital deployment for setup, initial franchise fees, and working capital cushion without over-leveraging.
Local Market Knowledge: An understanding of local consumer behavior, regional tastes, and real estate micro-markets gives you an edge in driving localized footfall.
Location Preferences: Franchise locations require commercial high streets, properties near universities or tech parks, premium shopping malls, or high-density residential markets with prominent front visibility.
