Description

SP Robotics Maker Lab is India’s premier hands-on STEM, Robotics, Coding, and AI learning experience center network. Operating under parent company SP Robotic Works Private Limited, the brand bridges the gap between theoretical school education and real-world technology skills for children aged 7 to 17.

Rather than relying on conventional rote learning or purely screen-based coding lessons, SP Robotics Maker Lab combines physical kit assembly, microcontrollers, sensor engineering, drone mechanics, and AI algorithms into an interactive "Learn, Build, and Collaborate" environment.

At the core of every Maker Lab is SPARKY, an AI-driven gamified learning engine that delivers personalized 3D animated instruction to each student. This hybrid model removes the dependency on highly specialized technical trainers, allowing franchise partners to deliver high-quality, standardized learning while keeping operational overhead low.

With accreditation from STEM.org (USA) and global technology partnerships with leaders like Unity and DJI, SP Robotics Maker Lab has established itself as one of the most trusted non-formal technology education brands in India.

The story of SP Robotics began in 2008 when engineering classmates Sneha Priya and Pranavan Santhanakrishnan at Anna University's College of Engineering, Guindy, began building custom robotics and competing across India. Realizing that practical engineering tools were inaccessible to young students, they officially incorporated SP Robotic Works in 2012.

Initially developing industrial robotics solutions and direct-to-consumer learning kits, the founders realized that kids needed dedicated local hubs to collaborate and build. In 2018, they launched the SP Robotics Maker Lab franchise format.

The company raised a $3 Million Series A round in 2021 to scale its AI platform SPARKY and grow its brick-and-mortar Maker Lab footprint. Today, the brand has trained over 100,000 students and earned more than 35 national and international accolades.

Support Training

SP Robotics Maker Lab offers a complete hand-holding framework so franchisees can focus on local growth rather than creating learning materials or troubleshooting software.

1. Pre-Launch Support

  • Site Selection & Auditing: Evaluation of proposed commercial or conversion properties, foot-fall analysis, and proximity checks to K-12 private schools.

  • Lab Architecture & Layout: Detailed interior blueprints for optimal desk placement, electrical routing, computer layout, display cabinets, and branding aesthetics.

  • Kit & Hardware Dispatch: Procurement and delivery of starter hardware sets (Robotics kits, IoT boards, Sensor packs, Drone assemblies, VR hardware).

2. Academic & Technical Training

  • Comprehensive Business Training: A 2-day intensive orientation covering center operations, sales strategies, student lifecycle management, and customer relations.

  • Mentor Certification Program: Training center facilitators to navigate the SPARKY AI platform, troubleshoot hardware modules, and guide students during hands-on builds.

  • Curriculum Updates: Automatic online deployment of new course modules (e.g., advanced AI, Python, ROS, block coding upgrades) at no extra cost to the franchisee.

3. Marketing & Student Acquisition

  • Centralized Digital Marketing: National campaigns run by the corporate team across Google, Meta, and YouTube to generate localized leads for each center.

  • Local Outreach Playbook: Guidelines for running science workshops in nearby schools, hosting local mini-robotics competitions, and participating in apartment complex events.

  • Brand Assets: Standardized print assets, brochures, banners, standees, and digital creative templates.

4. Ongoing Operational Support

  • LMS & ERP Access: Cloud-based center management system for student attendance, fee processing, course tracking, and kit inventory.

  • Field & Online Assistance: Ongoing operational guidance, tech support ticket resolution, and monthly review calls to optimize conversion rates.

Ideal Candidate

You do not need an engineering degree or prior teaching experience to own an SP Robotics Maker Lab. The central technology and AI system manage the academic instruction. The ideal partner possesses:

  • Passion for STEM & Child Development: An enthusiasm for bringing future-ready skills to young learners in their city.

  • Business Acumen & Customer Focus: Strong communication skills to interact with parents, explain program benefits, and manage local community relations.

  • Financially Capable Investors: Readiness to invest between ₹5 Lakhs to ₹10 Lakhs with sufficient initial buffer for local marketing.

  • Women Entrepreneurs & Educator Couples: Highly suitable for individuals looking to launch a purpose-driven business with manageable daily hours.

  • Existing Learning Center Owners: Owners of tuition centers, abacus classes, or activity hubs seeking to add a high-margin STEM program to their space.
