Description
Theka Coffee is one of India’s most distinctive beverage disruptors. Born out of a desire to make premium cold brew accessible, fun, and deeply rooted in Indian culture, the brand turned the traditional coffee house model upside down. Instead of overpriced espresso shots in quiet cafes, Theka Coffee introduced 100% Arabica cold brew served in iconic, amber beer-style glass bottles—complete with cheeky, local flavor names like Palang Tod, Next Level, and Coffee Ki Jawani.
What makes Theka Coffee stand out in India's crowded QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) landscape is its low capital footprint combined with high velocity sales. By brewing coarsely ground Chikmagalur Arabica beans slowly over 16 to 36 hours, the brand delivers a smooth, low-acid, high-caffeine cold brew that appeals to Gen Z, millennials, and working professionals alike.
Following its breakout national spotlight on Shark Tank India, Theka Coffee transformed from a street-side cart concept in Gujarat into a booming nationwide movement. Operating across high-footfall kiosks, takeaway counters, and cozy cafe formats, the brand offers prospective franchise partners a high-margin, easy-to-operate business model supported by centralized supply chains and strong social media equity.

The Brand Journey
Founder Bhupinder Madaan started selling cold brew coffee from his car trunk in Ahmedabad in 2017. Observing how traditional coffee chains charged premium prices while street vendors lacked quality, he combined high-grade single-estate Arabica coffee with an unpretentious, quirky "Theka" (local lounge/pub vibe) identity. The decision to package coffee in crown-capped glass beer bottles became an instant viral hit.
