Description

In a world of fast-food shortcuts and heavily processed ingredients, Miller’s Famous Sandwiches (famously known in its home region as Miller’s Roast Beef) stands as a champion of culinary authenticity. This isn’t your average sub shop; it is a fast-casual powerhouse built on a fifty-year tradition of slow-roasted perfection. Since the early 1970s, Miller’s has dominated the New England food scene with a simple, high-impact promise: "Family Serving Family®."

The brand’s market positioning is surgically precise. While the multi-billion dollar sandwich industry is crowded with cookie-cutter deli concepts and "assembly line" subs, Miller’s carves out its own niche by focusing on ultra-premium, house-sliced roast beef that is aged for 28 days and free from preservatives. This commitment to "real food" resonates deeply with today’s health-conscious, authenticity-seeking consumers. By combining a nostalgic, neighborhood-favorite atmosphere with a streamlined, modern operations model, Miller’s Famous Sandwiches offers a scalable business opportunity that is as resilient as it is profitable.

Background

What started as Henry and Ruby Miller’s entrepreneurial dream in East Providence quickly became a local institution. The "Miller’s way" was built on hand-crafting every sandwich to order. Today, the brand has evolved into a modern franchise system, recently refreshing its identity to blend its vintage heritage with a vibrant, 21st-century aesthetic.

Training & Support

We provide comprehensive initial training that covers marketing, sales, business management, and the systems and procedures required to operate a Miller’s Famous Sandwiches restaurant. This training lasts up to four weeks and is conducted at one of our corporate or training locations. Owners and managing owners are prepared in all core areas, including restaurant operations, marketing, finance, hiring, and training strategies.

We are dedicated to supporting Franchise Owners from day one. After the franchise agreement is signed, our support begins immediately with assistance in real estate, construction, and supply chain setup. Through weekly progress calls, we help with business setup, vendor introductions, adherence to health and safety standards, profit and loss management, marketing, and more.

Our team continuously develops marketing campaigns and provides materials to help Franchise Owners build a strong social media presence and attract local customers. Franchise Owners are required to allocate 1.5% of Monthly Gross Sales for local marketing and 1.5% of Weekly Gross Sales for our Brand Fund.

We also support Grand Openings with targeted strategies such as direct email, email marketing, social media promotion, digital display ads, geo-fencing, and retargeting campaigns.

Ideal Candidate

Miller’s is looking for "owners with grit" rather than passive investors.

  • Business Background: Experience in food service or general business management is highly preferred. You should understand how to lead a team and manage a P&L statement.

  • Passion for Community: A "Miller’s" owner is a community leader. You should be someone who enjoys partnering with local schools, charities, and first responders to build brand loyalty.

  • Location Preference: Prime candidates are those looking to develop in high-visibility suburban or urban "grab-and-go" areas with strong lunchtime populations.
