Shoot 360 Secures $7M to Accelerate Franchise Growth Plans

Basketball Training Franchise Enters Its Next Expansion Phase

Shoot 360 is preparing for a larger growth push after securing $7 million in new funding backed by COPA Innovation Laboratories and COPA Venture Capital.

The investment comes as the technology-driven basketball training franchise continues adding locations across the United States and international markets. More importantly, the deal creates a strategic relationship that could strengthen several areas of the business, including franchise development, athlete-performance technology, data analytics and real estate.

For Shoot 360, the funding represents more than additional capital. It gives the company new resources to expand a franchise system that has grown from an innovative basketball training concept into an international sports technology platform.

Combining Basketball Training With Technology

Founded in 2012 by Craig Moody, Shoot 360 was built around the idea that basketball development could become more measurable and engaging when technology was integrated directly into training.

Its facilities combine traditional coaching with computer vision, interactive training stations, real-time performance analytics and gamification.

Athletes can receive immediate feedback while working on shooting, passing, ball handling and other skills. Measurements can include shooting arc, depth and alignment as well as passing accuracy, reaction time and decision-making.

That technology has become one of the major differentiators behind the Shoot 360 franchise model.

The company has now collected information from more than 600 million basketball shots, creating a significant pool of performance data that can be used to help athletes understand their mechanics and track improvement over time.

Instead of relying only on a coach's observation, players are able to see measurable results from their training.

$7 Million Funding Supports the Next Stage of Growth

COPA Innovation Laboratories and its investment subsidiary, COPA Venture Capital, led the $7 million growth funding round.

The relationship brings together two organizations operating in overlapping areas of sports performance.

Shoot 360 contributes a growing franchise network and technology-based basketball platform, while COPA specializes in athlete assessment, sports science, performance analytics and technology-driven development.

The companies are expected to explore opportunities involving performance measurement, athlete data, technology development, franchising and broader business expansion.

Real estate could become another important part of the relationship.

COPA's broader business network includes National SportsMall Realty, which could provide Shoot 360 with additional expertise as it evaluates facilities and larger sports-oriented developments for future franchise locations.

Finding suitable real estate is often one of the biggest challenges for indoor sports concepts, making access to development expertise particularly valuable as the franchise grows.

Shoot 360 Already Has Significant Expansion Momentum

The investment arrives during an active period for Shoot 360.

The brand finished 2025 after opening 13 new locations and reaching approximately 60 locations worldwide.

Expansion continued during the first half of 2026. Shoot 360 reported six new franchise openings and five additional franchise agreements while maintaining a pipeline of dozens of locations under development across the United States, Canada and Asia.

New markets have included Springfield, Missouri; Oakville, Ontario; and Saitama, Japan.

The company's growing international footprint also demonstrates how its training model can travel beyond traditional U.S. basketball markets.

Shoot 360 now operates more than 65 locations internationally, with recent industry coverage putting the network at approximately 70 locations as development continues.

LA Fitness Creates Another Potential Expansion Channel

Traditional franchise locations are not the only growth strategy being tested.

Shoot 360 has also launched a pilot with Fitness International to introduce its basketball training system inside selected LA Fitness and City Sports Club facilities.

The program transforms existing basketball courts into Shoot 360 training environments equipped with the company's technology.

The first pilot location opened inside an LA Fitness in Hillsboro, Oregon, with additional locations planned in Washington and Northern California.

The approach could be significant for the franchise system because it provides another way to enter markets without relying exclusively on standalone facilities.

Using basketball space that already exists inside established fitness clubs could potentially expand the brand's reach while introducing Shoot 360 to a built-in population of athletes and families.

Sports Training Becomes More Data Driven

Shoot 360's expansion also reflects a broader change in youth and amateur sports.

Athletes and parents increasingly expect training programs to provide measurable feedback rather than simply practice time.

Technology that was once associated primarily with professional teams is becoming more accessible to younger athletes.

Shoot 360 has positioned itself around that shift by combining human coaching with technology designed to make improvement visible.

Gamification adds another dimension. Players can compete, accumulate scores, compare results and participate in challenges while developing fundamental basketball skills.

The experience is designed to make repetitive training more engaging while still focusing on development.

A Larger Franchise Platform Is Taking Shape

The $7 million investment gives Shoot 360 additional resources at a time when the company already has considerable development activity underway.

Capital alone, however, may not be the most important part of the deal.

The combination of COPA's athlete-performance expertise, real estate capabilities and investment resources with Shoot 360's franchise infrastructure could create multiple paths for expansion.

Those paths now include traditional franchises, international development, strategic sports partnerships and locations inside established fitness centers.

For a company that began by trying to make basketball practice more engaging through technology, Shoot 360 is increasingly building something larger: a scalable sports training platform where franchising, data, entertainment and athlete development operate together.

The next stage will depend on how effectively the company converts its growing development pipeline and strategic partnerships into successful operating locations.

With fresh capital behind the business and several expansion models already being tested, Shoot 360 appears ready to push its technology-powered basketball concept into considerably more markets.
